Lutheran Family Services (LFS) is honored to announce that we have been selected as a Lincoln Family Friendly Workplace.
The new program by Lincoln Littles and Lincoln Partnership for Economic Development (LPED) recognizes employers who demonstrate a strong commitment to supporting working families with young children, implement family-friendly workplace practices for their employees and help make Lincoln a great place to live, work and play by prioritizing family well-being and early childhood support.
Chris Tonniges, President and CEO of Lutheran Family Services, stated, “Being a family-friendly workplace is central to our values at LFS. Whether it’s our clients, or our employees, we want LFS to be a place that helps families thrive.”
The Lincoln Family-Friendly Workplace Certification emphasizes policies and practices that businesses can implement to support working parents such as childcare assistance, flexible work scheduling and paid/unpaid leave. Employers that meet at least 7 out of 10 qualifying criteria receive the Lincoln Family-Friendly Workplace Certification.
“Family-friendly policies are not just good for employees; they strengthen the whole organization,” said LPED Director of Talent Development Allison Hatch. “Companies that adopt these approaches often experience lower absenteeism, reduced healthcare costs and a healthier, more resilient workplace culture.”
“We know that 75% of Lincoln’s children under six have both parents in the workforce,” said Lincoln Littles Executive Director Anne Brandt. “Family-friendly workplace practices ensure parents have what they need to be their best—at work and at home. When employers develop policies with families in mind, they create environments where both parents and young children can truly thrive.”
