The LFS Economic Empowerment and Education Program supports refugees from arrival through self‑sufficiency. Through integrated services and community partnerships, the program helps clients build stability and independence by preparing them for the workforce through skill assessments, job‑readiness training, employment placement, and connections to education and vocational opportunities.

English Language Learning (ELL) Program
LFS also operates a robust English Language Learning (ELL) program, serving as the primary resettlement agency offering ELL in Omaha and Lincoln. Classes are available both in-person and remotely, enabling participation across Nebraska and Iowa. Students can attend up to four sessions per week and may receive transportation assistance based on eligibility and capacity. Computer Literacy Lab is open to a community where personalized basic computer skills are offered along with free access to computers with internet.
Workforce Development At LFS
The Economic Empowerment Program has grown significantly, driven by LFS’ expertise in workforce development. LFS will continue leveraging professional staff to deliver services that equip clients with the knowledge, skills, and support needed to pursue education, secure employment, and advance their careers.
