LFS Services to Afghan Survivors Impacted by Combat (SASIC) Program supports eligible Afghan individuals and families experiencing long‑term effects of trauma. The program addresses physical, emotional, social, and economic well‑being through holistic, strengths‑based, and trauma‑informed care. Services are provided by LFS staff and through trusted, culturally responsive community partners.
SASIC Services Available:
SASIC services are tailored to meet participants where they are and may include:
- Direct Core Services
Medical, psychological, and social work services designed to address complex trauma and promote long-term healing. - Telehealth and Remote Services
Accessible service options for individuals and families who live outside of designated service areas. - Age- and Gender-Responsive Care
Specialized and appropriate services for adults, children, adolescents, and individuals of all genders. - National Network of Culturally Responsive Providers
Collaboration with providers who specialize in working with individuals who have experienced significant trauma and displacement. - Organizational Capacity Building
Strengthening local systems of care to expand support for survivors and ensure long-term sustainability of services. - Community Engagement and Education
Outreach, education, and awareness-building activities to help communities identify survivors and support their healing journeys.
