A Night to Remember: Over $270,000 Raised for Dana Village at Record-Setting Event
On Saturday, July 26, a seven-course meal, 16 outstanding vintners, and the magnificent backdrop of the Holland Performing Arts Center came together for one incredible night of support for Dana Village.
The Angels Share Vintner’s Dinner, a collaborative effort between the Dana Village Committee, Main Street Cellars, and Qwest Distributing, hosted a record-breaking fundraiser that raised over $270,000 toward the renovation of the Dana Village gym. The funds will go toward matching a $2 million state grant to revitalize the space, turning it into a hub for wellness, connection, and community.
Dana Village, located on the former Dana College campus in Blair, Nebraska, is more than just housing. It’s a place where young people aging out of the foster care system—and others in need of support—can find stability, opportunity, and belonging. From mental health care and job support to peer mentorship and intergenerational living, Dana Village is redefining what it means to grow up and grow forward.
The evening itself was one to savor. Chefs Ben Maides (Au Courant) and Michael Anderson (Omaha Performing Arts) collaborated to create a stunning seven-course dinner, each course paired with wines from 16 acclaimed vintners. More than one California winemaker remarked that it felt “Napa-worthy”—a high compliment indeed.
The live auction offered exclusive getaways, private tastings, fly-fishing adventures, and golf at Dismal River in the Nebraska Sandhills—each item another opportunity to invest in the lives of young people working to build their futures.
None of it would have been possible without the generosity of our sponsors: CQuence Health, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska, Dan Hamann and Joan Squires, BMW Omaha, Country Auto, Gunderson’s Jewelers, Pinnacle Bank, McGrath North, and Rasmussen Mechanical Services. And a huge thank-you to our incredible event co-chairs Chuck Olson, Mike West, and Jamie Eckman, who helped bring this magical night to life. To everyone who donated and attended, thank you. You are helping us turn dreams into something real at Dana Village. And this is only the beginning.
