5 Questions Answered About Global Language Solutions

Effective communication is critical to any interaction, but what happens when language becomes a barrier? That’s where Lutheran Family Services (LFS) translation service comes in. With a focus on breaking down language barriers and providing effective communication, Global Language Solutions (GLS) is a trusted translation service provider in Nebraska.

We spoke with Sandra Gallegos, GLS Coordinator, about their services. She compiled a list of frequently asked questions to give insight into what they do.

1. Who can use your translation services?

Anyone wanting to break the communication barriers. We work with organizations and individuals. Our specialty is adjusting our services to fit the client’s needs, which could be as simple as translating a document or sitting in on a meeting and translating the conversation.

We offer over 15 languages, including Arabic, Burmese, Dari, French, Karen, Karenni, Kinyarwanda, Russian, Ukrainian, Nepali, Pasto, Somali, Spanish, and Swahili.

2. Does your team specialize in any specific types of translations?

GLS offers options to our clients. Specializing in the following services, including:

  • In-person sessions.
  • Over-the-phone translations.
  • Virtual conference interpretation.
  • Document translations.

Our team will work with clients to assess their needs and match them with a translator who can help them.

3. How long do translations usually take?

The length of time for translations can vary depending on the job. It can range from a 30-minute phone call to an 8-hour-long work orientation. GLS also offers after-hours, weekend, and holiday services.

4. What does it cost to use a translation service?

Prices for interpretation and translation services are $50 per hour during regular business hours and $60 per hour before 8 a.m., after 5 p.m., on weekends, and holidays. The minimum booking time is one hour, with additional time billed in 30-minute increments.

5. What differentiates you from other translation services in Omaha?

One critical difference between GLS and its competitors is that we offer in-person interpretation services. While other providers in our area only provide over-the-phone or video interpreting, GLS recognizes that there are times when clients need someone in person to communicate effectively. Additionally, GLS focuses on building relationships with its clients to better understand their needs.
