BELLEVUE, Neb. (February 1, 2016) – Lutheran Family Services of Nebraska (LFS) is consolidating its Bellevue and Papillion offices to improve access to human care and offer more services. The new office located in the former headquarters of SAC Federal Credit Union will primarily serve residents of Bellevue and Papillion, and will draw in clients from surrounding areas.
“We are pleased we can continue to be here to fill a need in the community with the critical mental health and substance use services we offer to adults and children,” said Todd Reckling, vice president of program for LFS. “This location enables us to expand our services and build even stronger connections and relationships within the community. Being on the Highway 370 corridor will make it more convenient for clients to participate in services.”
LFS closed its former Bellevue office, where it has operated since August 2000, located at 730 Fort Crook Rd. N. on January 30. The new office, located in the SAC Federal Credit Union building at 11515 S. 39th St. opened on February 1.
“It’s closer in proximity to collaborating partners, improves our efficiency and effectiveness in service provision and provides greater visibility to the community,” said Reckling.
The new office adds 1,200 square feet to the total combined space of both LFS offices in Bellevue and Papillion, and includes 19 office spaces and two rooms for group therapy.
“We couldn’t be more excited about this move,” said Sharon Robino-West, program manager for LFS At Ease.
LFS occupies the third floor of the building with 6,990 square feet of office space. Twenty two full-time staff will offer a range of behavioral health services, including substance use counseling, medication management, sexual abuse treatment and At Ease – a program serving veterans, active duty military and their loved ones.
“This new space allows us more room to offer services to our veterans and military family members,” said Robino-West. “It also places us right outside of base housing making us fully accessible to those seeking services from Offutt Air Force Base.”
With the move, LFS will now be able to provide its Children Services therapies in Bellevue with two on-site children’s mental health therapists. One therapist will offer counseling services to children of all ages. A second therapist will offer Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), a treatment for young children with emotional and behavioral disorders that builds positive parent-child relationships. The same provider will offer Teacher-Child Interactive Therapy, a school-based variant of PCIT that helps teachers manage difficult students and classrooms.
Therapists and staff from the LFS Papillion office plan to move into the new location by the end of the month. It has been at its current location at 1410 E. Gold Coast Rd. since July 2010.
SAC Federal Credit Union relocated its headquarters to Papillion in May 2014, but keeps a branch office at its Bellevue building.
