November 4, 2014 (Lexington, Nebraska) – Lexington native RoxAnne Owens Koenig was
recently honored by Lutheran Family Services (LFS) with its prestigious Lifetime Achievement
Award.
Koenig is only the second person to receive the honor. She has been a therapist with LFS for
over twenty years and was recognized for her dedication to community safety through the
treatment and prevention of sexual abuse.
Koenig received her award at a special dinner on September 14 in Omaha. President and CEO
Ruth Henrichs called Roxanne a “woman of courage and integrity, with a passion for excellence
and justice.” Henrichs credits her for changing clinical strategies, changing lives and changing
minds about the treatment of child sexual abuse statewide.
Faith in Action: Hope Restored focused on mental wellness and those who support the journey
to recovery. LFS is one of the largest providers of outpatient mental health services in the state,
serving 5,112 Nebraskans last year.
