May 12, 2014 (Fremont, NE) – The third annual Fremont Family Friends event is scheduled on Tuesday, June 10, 2014. Proceeds from this fundraiser will provide essential support for the services provided at the Rupert Dunklau Center for Healthy Families on Military Avenue.
Lutheran Family Services of Nebraska (LFS) opened the Building Families Boutique (now the Rupert Dunklau Center for Healthy Families) in 2007 — on the same Fremont site where LFS was founded 122 years ago. The Center focuses on early intervention, healthy parenting education and support of struggling families with children under age five, plus expectant mothers. Since the Center opened, it has served 972 Fremontarea families with 1,613 children. The Center generally has over 250 children in the program at any given time.
This innovative human care programming is designed to help children and their parents in many ways, but with one goal: each child shall be nurtured, secure and prepared to succeed in learning and in life.
