OMAHA, Neb.  (June 9, 2015) – The YMCA of Grand Island and Lutheran Family Services of Nebraska (LFS) At Ease program are offering free yoga classes to veterans at the YMCA’s Northwest Express Branch located at 2300 North Webb Road, Suite 109 in Grand Island, Nebraska. Beginning on Friday, June 12, 2015 at 6 p.m., classes will continue to meet every Friday at 6 p.m. weekly for a period of 12 weeks. Participants will receive a free YMCA membership for the duration of the class.

The classes will address a host of physical and mental health conditions veterans struggle with including post-traumatic stress, sleep problems, chronic pain and depression. In addition, participants will enjoy the camaraderie of fellow veterans who experience similar challenges.

About Lutheran Family Services’ At Ease program:

Since 2009 Lutheran Family Services of Nebraska, Inc. has offered the At Ease program, a support program for active military, veterans and their loved ones living in Nebraska.  At Ease provides individual, family and group counseling as LFS locations Services are offered in Bellevue, Lincoln, Grand Island and North Platte. Counselors are specially trained in treatment practices known to be effective in addressing PTSD and other trauma-related disorders.
