Lutheran Family Services (LFS) continues to expand access to behavioral health and crisis response services across western Nebraska, ensuring individuals and families receive the support they need when and where they need it most. A few of the initiatives going on in:

  • Crisis Stabilization and Detox Center
LFS continues to strengthen crisis stabilization and detoxification services, providing critical support for individuals experiencing mental health or substance use crises. These services offer a safe environment where clients can stabilize, begin treatment, and connect with ongoing care resources.
  • Community Peer Support
LFS will launch Community Peer Support services, providing clients with guidance and encouragement from trained individuals who have lived experience navigating mental health and recovery challenges. This new service will help clients build connections, strengthen recovery, and access ongoing support within their communities.
  • Crisis Intervention Team (CIT)
LFS is partnering with the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office to host a Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Training session. CIT is a nationally recognized, community-based approach that equips law enforcement officers, first responders, and community partners with the skills needed to safely and compassionately respond to behavioral health crises. By strengthening crisis response and improving connections to treatment, CIT helps create safer communities and better outcomes for those in need.
  • Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) Expansion
LFS is expanding its Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), increasing capacity and creating more openings for individuals seeking structured mental health and substance use treatment. This growth helps ensure timely access to care for people working toward stability and recovery.
