Lutheran Family Services (LFS) is proud to introduce the Hope Starts Here initiative, a transformative community effort to establish a new Crisis Intervention Center in Lincoln. This center will serve as a critical resource for individuals experiencing mental health or substance use crises, providing immediate, compassionate care in a safe and supportive environment. Rather than turning to crowded emergency rooms or becoming involved in the criminal justice system, people in crisis will have access to specialized services designed to promote stabilization, recovery, and long-term well-being.

The Crisis Intervention Center will offer rapid assessment, crisis stabilization, and connections to ongoing treatment and community resources. By bringing together healthcare providers, behavioral health professionals, community organizations, and local leaders, the center represents a collaborative investment in a stronger, healthier Lincoln and surrounding communities. Its goal is not only to respond to crises, but also to create pathways to hope, healing, and recovery for individuals and families facing some of life’s most difficult challenges.

This initiative aligns closely with LFS’ mission to provide compassionate care and strengthen the well-being of individuals, children, and families across Nebraska. Through community partnership and philanthropic support, the Crisis Intervention Center project will help ensure that people receive the right care at the right time, reducing barriers to treatment and improving outcomes for those in need. Together, we can build a community where every person has access to support, dignity, and the opportunity to move forward with hope.
