Crisis Services

LFS provides immediate support for individuals experiencing mental health or substance use crises. Through Mobile Crisis Response and Co-Response programs, LFS professionals help de-escalate crises, assess safety, provide counseling and connect individuals with community resources, with the goal of preventing unnecessary hospitalization or incarceration.

Crisis Training

LFS  provides Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training to help first responders and community professionals respond more effectively to mental health and substance use crises. Training focuses on mental health awareness, de-escalation techniques, crisis intervention strategies and connecting individuals with appropriate behavioral health resources, helping improve safety and reduce trauma during crisis situations.

Mental Health First Aid

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an early intervention public education program. It teaches adults how to recognize the signs and symptoms that suggest a potential mental health challenge, how to listen nonjudgmentally and give reassurance to a person who may be experiencing a mental health challenge, and how to refer a person to appropriate professional support and services.
